Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 2026

Allcheminfo is committed to making our content accessible to all readers, including people with disabilities. This statement describes our accessibility standards, current status, known limitations, and how to report accessibility barriers.

Our Standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities — including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

Measures We Take

We work to meet accessibility standards through the following practices:

  • Images: All informational images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt attributes so screen readers skip them appropriately.
  • Heading structure: Pages use a logical heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3) to support navigation by screen reader users.
  • Color contrast: Text and background color combinations are chosen to meet or exceed a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text, as required by WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — including navigation menus and links — are reachable and operable via keyboard without requiring a mouse.
  • Link text: Links use descriptive anchor text that makes sense out of context. We avoid “click here” or “read more” without additional context.
  • No seizure-triggering content: We do not publish content that flashes more than three times per second.
  • Responsive design: The site is designed to be readable and usable across screen sizes, from mobile to desktop.
  • Font sizing: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality using standard browser zoom controls.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas of the site may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards:

  • Legacy content: Articles published before 2025 may not fully conform to current image alt text or heading standards. We are working through this content on an ongoing basis.
  • Third-party embeds: Some pages include embedded content from third-party providers (such as video players or external tools). We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content, but we aim to work with providers who take accessibility seriously.
  • PDF documents: Any downloadable PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We provide HTML alternatives where possible.
